About Us

Bushes Bar originally known as Salters is situated in the charming village of Baltimore on the South West Coast of Ireland and is one of the oldest bars in Baltimore. It has been in the Bushe family since 1970 when Richard and Eileen Bushe took it over from Denis Salter. Over the years Richard and Eileen built the business into the thriving concern that it is today and it has become famous all over the world.

Bushes Bar is family run and is now managed by Tom, Aidan and Marion who a few years ago took over the day to day running of the bar, from Richard and Eileen Bushe.

Bushes has always had a long and cherished maritime tradition. Visiting sailors and tourists to the south west coast of Ireland regularly make a point of stopping off in Bushes (Baltimore) to partake in a drink or two while enjoying our renowned hospitality.

Bushes Bar has always been associated with seafaring and has long been frequented by sea farers of all sorts such as Fishermen, Sailors, Divers, Ferrymen and even those who are on their way to visit the islands.

Over the years an extensive maritime collection has been gathered by Richard and these adorn the walls of the pub for all to admire.

While partaking of a drink you can enjoy a panoramic view of the harbour from the seats out front, or if you feel it’s too chilly you can always move inside where the view can still be enjoyed.

We also offer Showers for visiting sailors and fisherman. In addition we stock Tide Tables and Admiralty Charts and Our Off-Licence carries a wide range of wines, spirits and beers.

We hope you come and visit us and we are sure you will enjoy your time here.
